VIDEO: Behind the Scenes of Severance Season Two

By: SonyCine Team

Critics have praised Apple TV's "Severance" as a compelling psychological drama, noted for its intricate world-building and stunning cinematography. The story centers on Mark (played by Adam Scott), who leads a team of office workers whose memories have been surgically split between their work and personal lives. When a mysterious colleague appears outside of work, it sparks a journey to uncover the truth about their jobs.

We spoke with Jessica Lee Gagné, the series' Director of Photography, to explore the behind-the-scenes creative process and how they pushed the boundaries of their established rules. Gagné and director Ben Stiller aimed to expand on the foundations they meticulously set in season one. This expansion involved everything from lens selection and filming techniques to choosing the main camera, which plays a crucial role in shaping the show's visual language. Using the Sony VENICE 2 and the FX3 cameras, they found tools that allowed them to explore their creativity more freely and dive deeper into the world of "Severance."
